In the D&C and in the temple, we learn that not all laughter is pleasing to the Lord. But what is "loud laughter"? What is an "excess of laughter"? What kind of laughter is appropriate in church meetings? In social settings? We can look to our prophets and other General Authorities for guidance. This book also shows us the difference between light-mindedness and lightheartedness, and reveals how insider humor is particularly important in the Church, marking our boundaries and reminding us of who we are. We also see that sense of humor is the fingerprint of our personality, revealing our values, our character, and our view of the world.
